Want to Get Involved with CAB?!
Positions:
There are five levels of CAB : Director, Assistant Director, Marketing Chair, Programming Chairs and Cabbies (General Members)
DIRECTOR
The Director serves as the Director of Campus Activities for the SGA and attend all required SGA meetings and activities. The Director is the CAB spokesperson to the campus and outside community and supervises organization and professionalism of the office. The Director leads weekly board meetings and collaborate with Assistant Director to create the organizational budget.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
The Assistant Director assumes the Director responsibilities in Director’s absence. Prepares agenda and leads general member meetings and serves as primary liaison between programming chairs and general members. Coordinates hotel and ground transportation needs for performers as requested by Programming Chairs. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director and advisors to create the organizational budget.
MARKETING CHAIR
The Marketing Chair is a new position to the CAB organization. This position will essentially complete all assigned event marketing projects, collaborate with respective Programming Chair on events, and manage and update the CAB website. 2012-2013 Application due March 16th.
PROGRAMMING CHAIRS**
Programming chairs are the event planners of campus programming. In its simplest form, programming chairs are responsible for reserving the rooms, contacting talent (ex. comedians, musicians, speakers, etc.), promoting the events, executing the event and positively representing CAB. The event categories the programmers work with are bus trips, comedy, concert, special events, daytime, coffeehouse, cultural and lecture. Amongst these events, the programmers also plan some of the biggest events on campus: Homecoming Concert and Tigerfest! 2012-2013 Applications due March 16th.
CABBIES
New members enter the organization as Cabbies. Cabbies are the driving force of CAB and help the programming chairs with the event brainstorming, promotion and execution. These tasks include, but are not limited to, managing social media, creating artistic bulletin boards and advertisement, handling crowds at events and most importantly, bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the team. Cabbies are the muscle of CAB – they know how to get things done.
Being a part of the Cabbie program is a great networking and leadership experience. You make a direct contribution to your student body and increase school spirit. This position looks great on your resumé, teaches you the inner workings of a major campus organization and helps you meet colleagues and friends. Cabbies have bi-weekly meetings.
2011 SPRING CABBIE MEETINGS
The best way to get involved is to come to our bi-weekly meetings and our events! Meetings are every other Wednesday at 5 p.m. in room 315/316 of the University Union – on the third floor opposite of the bathrooms.
