BATTLE OF THE BANDS & DJ SPIN-OFF PRESS KITS.
*ALL DUE BY DECEMBER 12, 2012 5:00PM*
What is Battle of the bands and DJ Spin-off?
–5 bands and 5 DJ’s will get the opportunity to compete for the chance to open up for our Tigerfest artists!
–Each band / DJ will get to perform for 20 minutes.
–These 10 artists will be chosen after we look at, and listen to, their press kits and will be announced towards the end of winter break.
–In these bands and DJ’s, the judges are looking for stage presence, sound quality / talent, originality, and audience reaction / participation.
– Judges: TBA (faculty, CAB board)
Who can participate in Battle of the Bands and DJ Spin-off?
–There must be at least one Towson student in each band / DJ
–Anyone can attend!
Where is Battle of the Bands and DJ Spin-off taking place?
–Paws stage area
–No seating. Just standing room.
–Bands and DJs load in at the paws loading dock.
–ALL physical copies of press kits are due Wednesday December 12, 2012 at 5:00pm ( last day of classes before winter break)
–Meetings with bands and DJs will start the first week back from winter break. (January 28, 2013)
–Battle of the Bands and DJ Spin-off will take place on Friday February 15, 2013
-All physical press kits should be sent in the mail or brought to the CAB Office (UU226K) – NO ELECTRONIC PRESS KITS ALLOWED.
-Each band / DJ must contain AT LEAST ONE Towson University student and that student’s TU email must be provided in the press kit.
-Each press kit should contain:
- The band / DJ’s biography or history
- Music samples (CD’s, MP3’s, or EP’s)
- Photos of the band / DJ
- A list of the band / DJ’s previous performances (when and where)
- Contact information for the band / DJ’s label, manager, publicist, leader, or any other representative (if any)
